Project on Foster transparency of judicial decisions and enhancing the national implementation of the ECHR
Author(s): editor: Linos-Alexander Sicilianos
The book “The execution of ECtHR judgments by Greece” highlights the multi-level and unique character, as well as the complexity of the enforcement mechanism of the judgments of the European Court of Human Rights, not only from the perspective of the Council of Europe, but also through a wide range of issues stemming from Greek cases, such as those concerning freedom of expression, the use of force by the police, the excessive length of proceedings, prison conditions etc. This volume also contains the findings of an original research covering the period from 1990 till today. It is, therefore, the first attempt for an overall assessment of the issue in respect of Greece.
