This Practical Guide aims at explaining in a practical and brief way the critical issues arising from the ECtHR’s case-law on Cypriot cases.

More specifically, the Guide analyses 77 Cypriot cases, brought before the ECtHR, in which the Strasbourg Court has identified a violation of one or more ECHR articles. It aims at constituting a useful tool for a Cypriot jurist and especially a judge, as well as at helping the latter in finding in good time human rights issues, under an ECHR lens, in the cases under consideration. The Guide also intends to contribute to the promotion of the harmonisation of domestic judgments and the strengthening their consistency with the ECtHR jurisprudence, offering at the same time information on the philosophy of the new Rules of Civil Procedure and the relevant innovations.
