The book at hand examines the non-adoption of a civil partnership agreement for same-sex couples and the relevant problems, in the light of the Grand Chamber judgment of the European Court of Human Rights in the case Vallianatos and others v. Greece (Applications nos. 29381/09 and 32684/09). Although the civil partnership agreement was established worldwide so as to regulate the social problem that unmarried couples were facing, constituting a social reality that needed regulation, in Greece it was applied only to heterosexual couples, leaving thus outside its scope of application same-sex couples, i.e. the ones for whom, essentially, this institution was created. This is the 85th volume of our Foundation on Human Rights issues. (From the presentation on the back cover of the book)
