THE GREEK CASES BEFORE THE EUROPEAN COURT OF HUMANRIGHTS

08 Sep 2021

The European Court of Human Rights is an emblematic judicial body implementing on a daily basis the fundamental principles and values of the European Convention on Human Rights. Since the recognition of the right to individual application by Greece until today, the European Court’s of Human Rights (ECtHR) contribution to the Greek legal matters has drastically increased. The ECHR infiltrates all branches of domestic law and is an integral part of the workload of lawyers and judges. The current circumstances have created an important increase of applications against Greece brought before the ECtHR. What are the main categories of cases adjudicated by the Court? Which are the dimensions mostly pointed out? How are the Court’s judgments being executed? How does the Greek judge deal with the ECtHR case-law? How can lawyers use the ECHR and the Court’s jurisprudence?

For all these questions, the Marangopoulos Foundation for Human Rights organises an online event on Wednesday 8 September 2021 at 5:00 pm, which will be live streamed on Facebook and YouTube.
