Event in memoriam of Sophia Koukoulis-Spiliotopoulos “Women at the forefront: achievements and the day after”
The MFHR organised an event in memoriam of Sophia Koukoulis-Spiliotopoulos, on Wednesday 4 October 2023, at 5.00 p.m., in the "Alkis Argyriades” Auditorium, at the NKUA central building.
On 4 October, the Marangopoulos Foundation organised an emotionally-charged event in memoriam of Sophia Koukoulis-Spiliotopoulos on the topic “Women at the forefront: achievements and the day after”.
Having as a starting point her important work in the field of women’s rights, current and new aspects of the issue of gender-based violence were brought out, such as women’s participation in political life, gender-based violence in the contemporary ageing society, (co-)guardianship, evaluating and assessing the risk for victims of gender-based violence, and the introduction of the notion of consent in the crime of rape.
