Indicatively, since 2002, the MFHR has been awarding prizes annually to students of Greek and Cypriot universities who submit the best papers on three topics selected by the Board of Directors. The prizes are accompanied by scholarships to attend the summer course of the René Cassin Foundation – International Institute for Human Rights based in Strasbourg.

Moreover, believing that the reintegration of prisoners into society goes through their education and that “knowledge is freedom”, the MFHR, since 2008, has been awarding annual prizes to primary, secondary and high school pupils of the school of the Special Detention Centre for Juveniles of Avlona for their performance and regular attendance in classes, as well as for good behaviour towards their peers and the teaching staff.
