The Marangopoulos Foundation for Human Rights (MFHR) is pleased to announce that within the context of its consultative status with the United Nations it has submitted a Written Statement at the 32nd Session of the Human Rights Council, taking place from 13 June to 1 July 2016 at the UN Headquarters in Geneva. The statement under the title “Trafficked women and children along the Eastern Mediterranean Route in times of the refugee and migrant crisis” illustrates another unfortunate aspect of the ongoing refugee and migrant crisis requiring joint coordinated mobilization and action by the UN Member States, with the objective of maximum protection of these vulnerable groups’ human rights. The MFHR Written Statement was drafted by the MFHR Research Fellows, Dionyssia Varthali and Theano Maneta.

The statement was drafted by the MFHR Research Fellow, Theano Maneta, and as an official document it is available in the six official languages of the United Nations.
