Europe of Rights & Liberties

The Marangopoulos Foundation for the Protection of Human Rights, the Carré de Malberg Institute (IRCM) and the Center for International and European Studies (CEIE) of the University of Strasbourg have been preparing for several months the relaunch of the Europe of Rights & Liberties/Europe des Droits & Libertés to celebrate the 70 years of the ECHR. The current circumstances encountered, whether in particular the health crisis and the measures taken to halt the spread of COVID-19, the counter-terrorist measures or the migration issue, increasingly reinforce the need to ensure the protection of human rights.

We are pleased to announce the launch of the first issue of Europe of Rights & Liberties/Europe des Droits & Libertés. Published mainly in electronic form, the journal would have a bi-annual publication (in March and September). It should offers an in-depth analysis on current legal developments in human rights, particularly in the area of European national and international case-law.

The issue can be downloaded in the journal's website (www.europedeslibertes.eu<https://www.europedeslibertes.eu/>).

The journal is subdivided into three sections: The first, entitled ‘Editor’s choice’, comprising of in-depth, original and unpublished studies on both theoretical and practical aspects of the protection of fundamental rights and public freedoms in Europe and internationally; the second section, entitled ‘Thematic Articles’, deals with themes in comparative European and international human rights which  are of  theoretical and practical interest; the third section, entitled ‘Focus’, offers an in-depth analysis on current legal developments in human rights, particularly in the area of European national and international case-law.
